Once upon a time, Hong Kong was number one in the world in many aspects. The electronic payment and entertainment streaming platforms that the world now eagerly pursues were already being explored in Hong Kong twenty years ago. Yet, for various reasons, the city remained stuck in place for two whole decades. This city, which once had the potential to become the Silicon Valley of the East, kept missing opportunities for development—so much so that people working in IT in Hong Kong are now inevitably ridiculed. Ah Shun was a minor supervisor in the IT department of a bank. After helping the company optimize its online service system, he was laid off, and his girlfriend left him at the same time. Despite losing both his job and his relationship, Ah Shun remains optimistic and clings to his entrepreneurial dream, hoping to become one of the many IT success stories of today. He rents a small desk at a newly opened co-working space called Born Hub, determined to bring his idea for a banquet social networking app to life.
